Fsv and Mass Comm is not a slack Course.

Yes, people oftenly get the very wrong idea about this.
I keep hearing stuff like "At least you guys don't have exams"
haha i admit, I used to think that way.
It doesnt help much when your holidays are shortened and your assignments piles up quick.
Oops dont get me wrong yea, I'm not stress but people often mistake us as slack slack slack. Not true!
For people who haven been in poly before, the 1st year they step into FSV they can feel the stress. Had a few people in class crying in school when they cannot take it but I'm still cool yea, used to it.

Fsv and Mass Comm face a different stress. The stress Fsvers/Mass commies face are: (purely personal opinion)

Peer stress - Your groupies sure have an expectation out of you. There is great tension in peer evaluation. You have to be blessed to be in a good group or else, say sayonara to happy days. Oh ya, when 1 member fails you, your whole production may fail. If something funny comes up at the last minute. Then say goodbye to your pre-production efforts and hello to repeating modules. Lots of big group work, lots of conflict, clash of opinions, lots of people who takes your work and make it theirs. Everyone wants to be a director.

Big production stress - I don't call this project anymore! You may go sleepless for a few nights just to shoot a 5 to 10min clip. Carry around big equipments, meet up budgets till your pockets burst, slog the entire shooting days, go hungry and when you overrun.. more problems. lol.

No exam stress - aha, wondering why no exam still stress? Because there are lots of project. Not just putting in a few words into your report, copy cut and paste them into a really nice scented coloured paper and hand up hoping that you can just get an A. NAH. You have to be original, creative, have a perspective and do it up to standard, if not. you know.

No formula stress - You cant put a formula to writing magazines or making movies. Depend on your creativity and more creativity. You have nothing to fall back on lol

Striving stress - It is soooo competitive. I've seen much trying too hard to be number 1 but I say ay, just do your best. I hear stuff like "only the best survive". EEks. Don't freak me~

Audience, lecturer stress - Yea this is it, you have to admit, not everyone likes your work. You like it, they may not like it. All of you like it, the lecturer may not like it, ay he is markin the work. After you slogged for a loooooooong time and work your guts out but ya lecturer says "no no". Thats it! Especially when you have a whole set of very frank and sometimes psycho lecturers in school.

It's hard to understand I guess. You have to experience it to get it.

However that's what is keeping me up. You can say, I enjoy this kind of stress. Great challenge for me. I'm still in beginning stage. I guess I will get trained in character and ability to handle weird kind of situations and stress. Meet me at the end of the course! ;)
