You've Got to be "KID-ing"
Today work was busy busy, was in the avid room editing all day. Actually I felt quite guilty cause I had to finish this piece of work by today (as assigned by my mentor). She didnt force me, she merely encouraged me to get it done by today. So I worked all the way and experience much computer error and audio error. Until 5pm, I was not done, 80% perhaps, So I thought:
"Nvm! I will finish it up then I'll leave this place"
Then at 5.30pm I asked my mentor to 'critique' my work and see if the music fits.
The thing i love about letting her check my work is
1. When she look through my work i will feel the stress (which is good cause this healthy stress makes me work with discipline)
2. She give me alot of creative space, but yet stating certain requirements and needs.
3. She patiently DEMO to me what I can do
4. She's very frank to give true opinions
5. Love it when she throw me into the fire and then slowly pick my ashes up HAHAHHAHA! (just a way of describing) I can gain experience 1st hand though i may not do a great job with it.
At 5.30pm, she actually SHOO me home!
Mentor: "ay go home le go home le, its late liao"
My Brain: "Late? its not even 6pm leh wow"
Eileen: "no lah i finish this 1st then i go home"
Mentor: "nono cannot, don't worry you still got lots of chance to do one, you come back on monday, i'll come at 11am and help you fix this"
Eileen: "Huh really? I do this until a certain place lah"
Mentor: "ok ah, save work and go home le ah"
Of course I didnt. Instead, i went to get a brief for the next project I had to do! So i stick around till 6.30pm. Then it was home sweet home!
Think I still got lots to learn! Very humbled by this internship. It's a big world out there!
By the way, the people there are scary, they use AVID like its their own fingers. You see everything in the screen moving like.. wildfire! and boy, they edit fast too..
